CGA-BC Events
Conference is the Association’s annual five-day member summit. It features CGA-BC’s AGM, a full slate of professional development courses, the longest- running accounting trade show in the Northwest, the president’s banquet and a special night out.
Conference 2010, September 15 - 19 at the Hilton Whistler Resort and Whistler Conference Centre. Twenty-two seminars worth 87 CPD hours, including: Leadership and Strategic Marketing with Arlene Dickinson; Technology Update with Steve Dotto; and Implementing a Social Media Marketing Strategy with Merge Gupta-Sunderji, MBA, CSP, CGA.
Convocation, to many, is the biggest day in the CGA-BC calendar. It marks the graduation of another year’s students and allows friends and loved ones a chance to honour the new CGAs as they receive their certificates.
Quarter Century Club: the Association also honours its members. Each spring, CGA-BC members celebrate 25 years of membership in CGA-BC and come together with other QCC alumni to meet old friends, share a night of dinner and dancing—and look forward to the next quarter century.
President's Speaking Engagements: CGA-BC represents all of B.C. That’s why every part of the province has a seat on the Board of Governors and that is why the president takes the message of CGA-BC to all corners of the province in a series of speaking engagements. The president addresses not only CGAs, but also business, community and political leaders.
Recruiting Events (Partners in Employment Program): CGA-BC hosts, sponsors and participates in several recruiting events throughout the year. Many of these events are heavily attended and greatly anticipated by post-secondary students interested in accounting and finance. Other events are produced for CGAs and CGA students looking for opportunities in specific fields, e.g., finance, government, industry, public practice accounting.
